What heavy use wears out
Bearings, suspension and door locks all have a working life measured in cycles. Twice the loads means they wear out in half the time.
Mud, sand and grass from sports gear end up in the pump, and a single heavy item like a doona or bath mat can throw the drum off balance.
Keep it running
Empty pockets, wash heavy items with a few towels to balance the load, and do not overfill. When a noise starts, get it checked early. A worn bearing left too long can damage the drum.
