Washing machine tripping the power? We fix it at your home

A machine that trips the safety switch has an electrical fault, often a heater, motor or pump letting water reach the wiring. Stop using it and call us. We are a repair service. We come to your laundry and fix it.

What we usually find

These are the faults we find most often.

Failed heater element

A cracked heater lets water reach the power. It often trips on warm washes. We replace it.

Motor or pump fault

A worn motor or leaking pump can short out. We test each part.

Damp wiring

A leak inside the machine can soak the wiring. We find the leak and fix both.

Rodent damage

In garages and outdoor laundries we sometimes find wiring chewed by rats or mice. We repair it.

What happens when we come out

  1. You call or text

Tell us the brand, front or top loader, and what the machine is doing. We book a time that suits you.

  2. We find the fault

The technician tests the machine in your laundry and tells you what is wrong in plain words.

  3. You approve the price

You get the full price before we start. If it is not worth fixing, we tell you.

  4. We fix it

Most repairs are done on the spot with parts from the van. Our work has a 12 month warranty.

Before you call

  • Unplug the machine and reset the safety switch. If it holds with the machine unplugged, the fault is likely in the machine.
  • Do not keep resetting the switch with the machine plugged in.

Anything past these checks is a job for us. Please do not open the back or top of the machine, and never work on it while it is plugged in. Water and power do not mix, and a heavy drum can shift without warning.

Questions about this repair

Is it dangerous?

A tripping safety switch is doing its job. The fault behind it needs fixing before the machine is used again.

Could it be the house wiring?

Sometimes. If the machine tests fine, we tell you to get an electrician to check the circuit.

Why only on hot washes?

That often points to the heater element.
